"It was just a few seconds." That's the phrase heard too often by firefighters when it comes to water related incidents in Maricopa County. Unfortunately, it only takes a few seconds for a child to drown.
Layers of protection
Supervision is the key to protecting lives, but there are other "layers of protection." Studies show 69% of drowning incidents occur when parental supervision fails and there are no other "backup layers" in use.
